PSN821 has been selected as a product candidate from our GPR119 program that targets selective agonists of this novel G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) which is expressed both in the gut and in pancreatic islets. This compound has potential utility in both the Type 2 diabetes and obesity therapeutic areas. Some of our work on this target, including the de-orphanisation of GPR119 (i.e. the identification of the endogenous ligand for this receptor), can be found in Cell Metabolism 3, 167-175 (2006).
