Oncology

OSI Oncology offers several unique strengths to share with our partners. Our team has fully integrated capabilities of drug discovery, oncology drug development and commercialization with proven success, and thus can offer partners, especially small biotech companies, the expertise of oncology clinical development, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, marketing and sales.

Objectives for Partnership

Compound in-licensing/acquisition
We have built a solid oncology portfolio/pipeline with molecular targeted therapies against EGFR, c-Kit/KDR, IGF-1R and TORC1/2. We actively seek licensing/acquisition opportunities to further enhance our portfolio:

  • Pre-clinical lead and development candidates that complement/accelerate internal R&D efforts
  • Development stage opportunities that enhance our clinical pipeline

Commercial collaboration
We look for commercial collaboration opportunities (such as co-promotion) with marketed or near-approval products that will leverage OSI commercial capabilities, including our seasoned oncology sales force that has a successful track record with Tarceva®, and clinical oncology liaisons (COLs) to provide real-time scientific and educational support to the product branding.

Out-licensing
We will out-license oncology assets to enable us to focus on our strategic priorities. OSI also continues to support its out-licensing program of its gene transcription patent portfolio.

Outsourcing
We look for opportunities to outsource components of research & manufacturing to be cost-effective and to provide resources in supporting strategic initiatives.

Research Technologies
We look for opportunities to build the technology platform focused on the EMT processes that will enable us to access novel and known targets and to link such targets mechanistically to an EMT process in cancer, to evaluate the efficacy of different modalities to high priority oncology targets, and to identify novel biomarkers for patient selection and clinical efficacy. We are interested in:

  • Enabling EMT technologies, such as assays and tools
  • EMT targets, drug combinations and biomarkers
  • Drug discovery collaborations on EMT
  • A strong intellectual property position
